silly scripture of the week is Genesis 9:20-25


i have noticed here that the drivers are way patient. like they'll cut each other off and just be like "maayong hapon" (good afternoon) it's because there are soooo many jeepnys which need to stop and go and pick people up every 20 seconds. they don't really care if someone gets to an appointment late, they call it "island time" which is where you just get there when you get there. which makes me state that "a Philippino is never late, nor is he ever early. he arrives precisely when the jeepney gets him there."


oh, i got two packages this week. and MAN WERE THEY EXPENSIVE! it cost 60$ to send them through USPS! i think that's a ripoff. anyone who is trying to send me a package should try fed ex or ups, hopefully those won't be as expensive. and if they aren't any cheaper, well maybe you could try sending money to my mom and she'll put it into my personal fund (which we are supposed to have anyways) and i can buy myself a present from you. because it's a big sacrifice to spend $60 to send a package full of stuff that doesn't cost that $60. not only that, but from my perspective here, that's a lot of money.


this week, we got a cell phone. mainly because no one in the house had one and we needed to send our numbers in. it's nice to have but the Assistants to the President ask for a lot of things now. like for us to get keys for the chapel at like 11 at night. but it helps for us to arrange appointments and such.


i'm making a list of books that i want to get, these ones right now are namely for my mission. because they are really helpful in the doctrine;
